Note for producers

I expect from all producers to prepare their budget for the projects before coming to class. As it was stated in the syllabus all participants in project are supposed to contribute with 10 TL. Students having a problem with this budget contribution fee please see me. We will sort it out.

Reading source for sound operators

Here is a source for sound operators. I will recommed you two texts rather complicated yet compact and satisfactory. There will be a short presentation in class about the special terms used in these texts. You may take the quizes at the end of each section as a preperation for the special test you will be given as a part of your assignment. I advise the sound operators to read these texts carefully before coming to class. Here are the links:

Information about the Midtem Exam

The exam questions will ONLY be asked from the reader. Read the parts we have covered in the class carefully. Please do not worry about about the power point presentations.

1. They are only recitations of the reader
2. They have already been left to Trio copy center as I have said (Doruk would know where are they better than the other people in the Trio copy center, ask him)
3. I have tried to upload them to our ftp site yet filezilla is not functioning for the last two days.

Tips for the Midterm

1. Do the readings carefully.

2. Read your notes.

3. Organize a group study in which you discuss possible questions.

In the midterm there will be

3. Fill in the blanks
4. Graphics
5. Short essay questions

Interview Topics

In the last lecture we have more or less determined the topics on which you will work on. I want the writers to e-mail their topics and the person/people they will be interviewing. My e-mail adress is ibrahimcansizoglu@gmail.com. Writers are expected to send this information before 2nd of Decemeber. Then producers will start organizing the shootings.

Canon XL2 Manuals

Canon XL 2 manuals are left to the Trio copy center. All camera operators are expected to get these manuals (they are avilable both English and Turkish). Camera operators are responsible from the whole manual. Soun operators are responsbile from the part concerning them (Namely from the part about the sound panel in the manual). There will be some additinal reading for sound operators which will be announced soon. Both camera operators and sound operators will be tested for their assigned readings. What I recommend for you is to have these manuals as soon as possible and to start studying them.

Wednesday Lecture

There won't be any lecture tomorrow (24th of November) as I have said in the last class. We will decide the make up lecture time together.
